Explore Marketing Update - Issue 28

Updated: Feb 15

Upcoming Explore Marketing Spring Sales Missions

As part of Explore Marketing’s services, we will be leading two sales missions – one to Poland and Hungary (June 29 – July 3) and another to a few countries including Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway (September 14 – 18). With the introduction of new non-stop flights by various airlines between Poland, Hungary and the U.S., and the inclusion of Poland as a member of the Visa Waiver Program, the number of travelers from both countries (Hungary has been a member of the Visa Waiver Program since 2008) are expected to increase in the coming years. Poland is one of the fastest-growing European international inbound travel markets for the U.S. From 2013 to 2018, Polish visitation to the U.S. increased by 53%. The U.S. is the No. 2 long-haul destination for Polish residents and accounted for 17% of all long-haul visitation from Poland in 2018. On the other hand, Hungarian visitation from 2018 – 2019 increased by 13.5%. In fact, the U.S. is a primary international destination. While Scandinavia constitutes a small market, it is an important market. With six weeks of paid vacation annually, Scandinavians are heavily incentivized to explore the rest of the world, offering an opportunity for U.S. suppliers to further attract these travelers to stay longer at their destinations and explore its attractions. To sign up for these sales missions or check out other sales missions scheduled for 2020, click here.

Explore Marketing will set up all appointments with 18 - 25 top travel trade companies, saving you weeks of preparation. This way, you can focus on training 75 - 125 staff to be experts of your products. Besides that, all of our sales missions are designed for small groups rather than large delegations, limited to only eight participants, to maintain exclusivity and so you have the opportunity to stand out. Into the Woods: A Tour of California’s Coastal Redwoods

After being in the San Francisco tourism industry for almost 30 years, Tower Tours recognizes that most guests to Muir Woods National Monument are there for a once-in-a-lifetime visit and believes that this visit shouldn’t be rushed. Other tour operators make a brief stop at Muir Woods, however, Tower Tours ensures guests have sufficient time to really make the most of the experience. With 1.5 hours to explore the woods at their own pace, there’s plenty of time to inhale the fresh air and stimulate the senses as they journey through a piece of ancient California history. Entrance fee into Muir Woods is included in the tour. The daily tour also includes a scenic drive through the quaint seaside town of Sausalito. The Mediterranean-style village across the San Francisco Bay is famous for its sweeping views, timeless sophistication, local boutiques and cafes. Need more time to dine and shop in Sausalito? Simply add on the optional ferry return ticket for $12 per person. Daily departures at 9:00AM, 11:00AM and 2:00PM. Learn more

For more group-friendly attractions at Pier 39, groups can combine their visit to The Flyer – San Francisco with 7D Experience. Best described as “roller coaster meets 3D video game”, the 7D Experience is an interactive, immersive experience that takes guests to another dimension to compete with other riders to combat a range of enemies such as werewolves, zombies, evil robots and more. The award-winning XD DarkRide at 7D Experience can accommodate up to 20 guests at a time and is suitable for all ages as long as they meet the minimum height requirement of 40” or taller.
