Explore Marketing Update - July 2017

Social Media Marketing

With so many people, especially millennials, communicating and consuming news via social media and digitally, it is more important than ever to include social media marketing as part of your business plan regardless of the size of your organization. With numerous platforms available in the marketplace, identifying the most effective platform to communicate your messages can be a daunting process. To begin, identify the most popular platform your audience is using. For example, Facebook and Twitter are popular in the U.S., but both are unavailable in China. Therefore, it would not be effective to setup Facebook and Twitter to reach the Chinese market. To reach this group, companies should consider setting up the equivalent of these instead – WeChat and Weibo. Additionally, having accurately translated foreign language content is essential and needs to align with the social media platforms of your customer base. Read more about developing a foreign language strategy. Having social media presence alone is not sufficient. To be effective, it has to be active and engaging. You can achieve this by posting regularly and including a call-to-action within your posts. Such examples include asking followers to like your post, share your post or click-through to your website for further information. If used correctly, social media is a great marketing tool and offers immediacy. You can post at anytime or schedule your posts using tools such as Hootsuite. On that note, we would like to invite you to follow us on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter for the latest news.

So Much To See At California Academy of Sciences

For 150 million years, flying reptiles called pterosaurs ruled the skies. As the first vertebrates to fly under their own power, pterosaurs are evolutionary all-stars, with some sporting wingspans the size of small airplanes. Until January 7, 2018, the Pterosaurs: Flight in the Age of Dinosaurs exhibit will call the California Academy of Sciences home. Based in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, the California Academy of Sciences is also home to a world-class aquarium, planetarium, rainforest, and natural history museum—all under one roof. One general admission ticket gives guests access to all of the Academy's amazing exhibits, but the exploration doesn’t stop there! Guests can take a Behind-the-Scenes Tour to learn about the Academy's 160-year history, or to dive deep into the operations of the Aquarium. Thursday night is NightLife, an event with cocktails, music, and different themed programing every week for those above21 years of age. NightLife guests can also sign up for a NightLife VIP Tour or reserve a private space with a NightLife Private Lounge. The Academy also has spaces available to rent for daytime meetings and evening events, with capabilities ranging from 30 to 3,000+ guests. For more information, email Jun Watanabe.
